The Edstrom WaterBuddy is great. No leaks or drips from the spout. Good for travel since the spout won't leak if the bottle is moved or shaken. However, the flip top cap is not leak proof so if you fill the bottle too much, then it can leak from the top if the water sloshes around.
It does not use a vacuum to keep from leaking so saliva and debris do not get sucked up into the bottle. There is a little stem that sticks out of the spout that the animal licks and the water flows, and as soon as the animal stops licking the valve closes up again. You don't have to refill it everyday unless it is near empty because the water stays sanitary. It is recommended that the bottle is cleaned once a week.
If medicine or vitamins are used in the water, then it should be replaced daily. The bottle doesn't have to be filled up all the way to prevent leaks so it can be filled it up to the level you need.
It is easy to fill and clean because of the wide opening and the cap has a flip top lid. It stands upright on the counter which is useful if you need to set it down for a minute. The spring that attaches the bottle to the cage can stay on the cage while the bottle is being cleaned. This nice because you don't have to fuss with attaching the holder on the cage. It is easy to slip the bottle in and out of the holder.
The Edstrom WaterBuddy comes in 8 ounce, 16 ounce, and 32 ounce sizes. The Water Buddy also has replaceable parts.The 8 ounce comes in clear purple as well as clear light blue like the larger sizes.
The only small problem that I had was mounting the 16 ounce bottle to the cage. At first I didn't have the spring tight enough around the bottle to hold it up.
